The tour starts on Marienplatz in front of the Tourist Information of the City of Munich in the Gothic town hall, see map on page meeting point.. Your tour guide has a yellow sign with Street Art in red letters.

When you look at how tidy and chic Munich is today, it’s hard to imagine that it was here where the graffiti movement in Germany got its first foothold back in the 1980s.
The first (master)pieces, the first end-to-end painted train (whole train), and the first Hall of Fame were created right here, with many those writers still active today! On this tour, we will not only see some of the oft transient works created by the “old masters” who shaped this culture, but also from up and coming new street artists.
The first leg of our colourful tour leads us along the Isar river far from the tourist crowds to Giesing, a former working class neighbourhood. From there, we head to the slaughterhouse district (Schlachthofviertel) where we have a break.
